Which documents confirm teaching experience, and how can it be proven to the education authorities?
Answer by a legal consultant
Teachers and other employees of educational institutions are granted pensions in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On Mandatory State Pension Insurance.”
Teaching (pedagogical) experience refers to the total duration of employment of pedagogical and academic staff in educational institutions in positions related to the educational and teaching process. Positions included in pedagogical experience are defined by the List of Positions of Academic and Teaching Staff approved by Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 963 dated June 14, 2000. Teachers and lecturers of all specializations are included in the list established by law.
The primary document confirming teaching experience is the employment record book, along with other documents (such as extracts from employment orders, payroll records, etc.) that, in accordance with current legislation, confirm the period of employment.
The Procedure for Payment of Length-of-Service Bonuses to Pedagogical and Academic Staff of Educational Institutions, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 78 dated January 31, 2001, regulates the calculation of length of service. According to paragraph 4 of Procedure No. 78, employees of enterprises, institutions, and organizations who, in addition to their main employment, performed teaching work in educational institutions with a workload of at least 180 hours per academic year shall have the months during which such teaching activities were carried out included in their teaching experience for the purpose of calculating the length-of-service bonus.
Employees who, in addition to their main job, worked part-time in academic or teaching positions with a workload of at least 0.25 of a full-time salary rate (teaching load) shall also have the period of such employment included in their teaching experience for the purpose of calculating the length-of-service bonus.
From your question, it is not entirely clear under what conditions you were appointed to the position of computer science teacher, or which document confirms your employment in the teaching position.
Therefore, provided that there is an employment contract and the volume of teaching work is at least 180 hours per academic year or at least 0.25 of a full-time salary rate, the teaching hours worked must be included in your teaching experience.
